It is a magnificent wooden palace of the 16th century, situated 50 km away from Trivandrum, it comes under Tamil Nadu state yet it is administered by Government of Kerala. The palace is closed for lunch from 1 to 2 PM, so plan accordingly. Palace has beautiful wood and stone sculptures, large mirror made up of polished metal, gallery of paintings and more.

Poover Island :

Main attraction at Poover is backwater  boating. The boating packages come in hourly packages. If you want to have lunch at floating restaurant you would have to go for a 2 hour package, but I wouldn’t recommend it as the food in the restaurant was not that great. While cruising you go thorough wild trees, mangroves, and coconut trees.
