South Indian Prawn Curry Recipe

 

After a long time I am posting a recipe post. This is a very easy to make South Indian Prawn Curry. It can be had along with rice or roti. Vegetarian can replace Prawns with Panner.


Ingredients Required :

Prawn – 250 gm
Onion – 2
Tomato – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Curry leaves – Few
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric – Pinch
Oil – 2tbsp
Salt – to taste
Corriander – For garnishing

Method :

1. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell leaves.

2. Then add onion and cook until it turns translucent.

3. Add tomatao, curry leaves and cook until it turns mushy.

4. Now add cleaned prawns, chilli powder, pinch of turmeric and mix well.

5. Close the pan and cook until the prawn is cooked.

6. Add pepper powder and cook for a minute.

7. Garnish with corriander leaves and serve it with rice or roti.

Notes :

  • Wash the prawn for 7-10 times with pinch of turmeric to remove it’s smell.
  • You can even replace prawn with boiled eggs.
  • If you want the curry to have more gavey add 1/4 cup of coconut milk to it.
